Korea--Day 10 (Monday, July 2)

Not much to report today.  We spent the entire day moving the herd (there are about 75 of us) from Busan to Jeju, which is a  short trip but requires a plane ride, since Jeju is an island. Its population is 660,000, and the land area is 2000 square kilometers. I don't know what that is in miles. Why doesn't the U.S. just go metric like the rest of the civilized world?  Typhoon Prapiroon (not-so-affectionately dubbed Typhoon Crapiroon) is stalking us, but so far we're ok.  Tomorrow is supposed to be the worst weather day, with heavy rains (500 mm of rain--seems like a lot to me, but again, I don't speak metric) and high winds (lot of kilometers per hour).  We're meeting 30 minutes before our scheduled departure time to discuss alternatives to our agenda, which is supposed to be all outdoors, touring volcanoes and waterfalls.
Tower at Gimhae International Airport in Busan.
There are 2 Wills, 2 Noahs, and 2 Jacks on this trip.  Here's one of each.
Mo loves to braid, and she has a son, so she was happy to braid Sarah's hair.
We were at Gimhae for a long time. We got there way early, and our flight was delayed.
I found a wonderful, peaceful introvert oasis outside the airport.
Another view from the introvert oasis.  Sometimes I have to get away from the group.
 Waiting to board the plane.
 Made it to Jeju.
Our hotel at Jeju. It's far enough inland that we can't even tell we're on an island.
The typhoon is holding off so far.  Good thing, since the pool is outdoors.
The best part of the day was when Mrs. Oom taught us a Korean song on the bus. She sang it for us, and then we all sang it together a couple times, and then she asked for a volunteer to come to the front of the bus to sing it solo. Brave Sarah did it, and she did a good job. I was so proud of her.
