Right away, we noticed that a bear had recently visited the cabin. He had torn down and smashed all the bird feeders, including the one for the hummingbirds. Noah and I found bear tracks around the cabin. The poor hummingbirds were hovering around in confusion where their feeder is supposed to hang. After unpacking, we made a trip to town to buy groceries for the week and a new hummingbird feeder. The rest of the day was spent watching birds and settling in to the cabin. We were all very tired from being on the road all night.
Mike and Noah worked on the ATV, trying to get it out and running.
I took a brief hike (brief is all I can manage at this altitude) to Lost Creek.
Lots of deer wandering around in town.
The road up to the cabin.
They appreciate their new feeder.
Mike and Noah spent some time trying to hang the hammock.
