Carrying on without me

When Sarah gets up in the morning, she always makes a beeline straight to me.  This morning I was up before she was.  Since she doesn't do anything quietly, I easily heard her get up and go into my room looking for me.  I was struck with the impish idea to hide from her and see how she reacted.  So I hid and heard her coming down the hall, looking in the living room, school room, and kitchen. She said "Huh, no Mom" in a totally uninterested way.  Then she went to the pantry, got herself some fruit snacks and a granola bar, and turned on the TV.
