Noah: What does immediate family mean?
Me: To me, it means the people you live with: your siblings and parents.
Noah: So Papa isn't my immediate family?
Me: Well....I would consider him extended family, but others may have a different definition.
[Noah has a moment of silent thinking with furrowed brow]
N: When I move out, will I still be your immediate?
M: You'll always be my immediate.
N: If I die, I'll be your never.
M: If you die (which you're not allowed to do, by the way), you'll be my always.
N: I guess if I go to Korea, I'll be your..sort of delayed?
M: No matter where you go, you'll always be my immediate.
N: Cool.
I love, love, love that kid.
